About

ABOUT ME: Hello! Thank you for visiting my page! I am a mother of two beautiful children that I love deeply, but at times can struggle with. I am originally from Little Rock, Arkansas. I moved to New York City in my early 20s for school and acting. I then returned to Arkansas, where I met my husband. My husband and I moved to Chicago, IL with our son, and I received my Master’s with a specialization in Children and Adolescents from Northwestern University. We then decided to move to TN and have recently welcomed a baby girl. SPECIALIZATION: I specialize in working with children, teens, parents, families, and adults. I am trained in EMDR and EMDR/Play Therapy for children. I often work with children affected by divorce, grief and loss, child sexual abuse, anxiety, and trauma. I am currently under the supervision of Carla Babb and affiliated with Cypress Counseling Group. HOW I CAN HELP: Is your child struggling with excessive worries or fears, frequent yelling or hitting, trouble with peers, trouble sleeping, wetting the bed, clinginess, withdrawn, angry, or mean to others? I work with your child and family to provide a path for personal growth, learn healthy coping skills, build a stronger connection, improve communication, resolve conflicts, and have fun! Parents will learn how to co-regulate and manage challenging behaviors. I meet your child and family where you are to move toward healing and understanding. I am committed to helping you learn the essential skills to support one another and problem-solve together. I create a judgment-free zone with compassion and understanding, acknowledging that there is no such thing as a perfect parent. I will provide support not only to your child but also to you as their parent and to your family. MY APPROACH: I believe that being a parent is one of the best and hardest jobs in the world. I believe all parents want to do better and are doing the best they can with the resources they have. I believe in creating stronger relationships and connections based on trust and respect, while also promoting boundaries, parental authority, and strong leadership. I am committed to providing parents with valuable resources and effective parenting strategies tailored to their child's specific needs. My approach may require individual sessions with your child or teen, individual sessions with the parents, sessions with the parent and child or teen, and sometimes full family sessions. I use an evidence-based approach that is supported by both directive and non-directive interventions to help meet families where they are and move toward a life where they can all live, love, learn, and thrive. I believe every client is unique and treatment should be personalized. Establishing a trust-based therapeutic relationship is essential. I love helping my clients tell their stories nonverbally or verbally by providing a safe, reparative, and relational experience. I honor, resonate, and hold witness to my client's unique story. If you have any questions, please feel free to give me a call or send me an email. I can't wait to hear from you and am ready when you are.
